SAN DIEGO, August 19, 2020 – LS Power today unveiled the largest battery energy storage project in the world – Gateway Energy Storage. The 250 megawatt (MW) Gateway project, located in the East Otay Mesa community in San Diego County, California, enhances grid reliability and reduces customer energy costs.
The energy storage projects offered include direct current distribution systems, CES, anti-idling retrofit and pole utility solutions. The energy storage projects will be located at three existing SCE power substations: 225 MW at Springvale Substation in Big Creek-Ventura, 200 MW at Hinson Substation in the Los Angeles Basin, and 112.5 MW at Etiwanda Substation in the Los Angeles Basin.
