The dish/engine system is a concentrating solar power (CSP) technology that produces smaller amounts of electricity than other CSP technologies—typically in the range of 3 to 25 kilowatts—but is beneficial for modular use. The two major parts of the system are the solar concentrator and the power conversion unit.
A solar dish direct steam power generation system was established based on gradient TES, which included a dual sensible heat tank using molten salt (60 % NaNO 3 -40 % KNO 3), latent heat storage using KNO 3 as PCM, and an intermediate tank for molten salt flow regulation.
The resulting beam of concentrated sunlight is reflected onto a thermal receiver that collects the solar heat. The dish is mounted on a structure that tracks the sun continuously throughout the day to reflect the highest percentage of sunlight possible onto the thermal receiver.
In contrast, research on thermochemical reactors has achieved more promising results. The unique advantages of high temperature and flexible capacity of SDS also make solar dish thermochemical systems a prospective research field. However, the design of thermochemical reactors also needs to face radiation fluctuation and nonuniform flux.
Our home solar PV systems and energy storage products are engineered for reliability, safety, and efficient deployment in Polish conditions. All systems include comprehensive monitoring and control with remote management capabilities.
