The floating solar island initiative marks a major step in the Maldives’ transition to a zero-carbon future. As the first phase of a larger project, the island is equipped with solar arrays, battery energy storage systems, and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
Future plans include adding electric boats and other clean energy solutions, highlighting the Maldives’ commitment to sustainability. At the heart of the solar island’s operation is the Abraxas Operating System (AbOS), which seamlessly integrates energy sources, storage, and consumption.
