Dorcheh et al. studied the corrosion behavior of ferritic steel, austenitic steel and Inconel625 alloy in solar salt at 600 °C, drawing a conclusion that Inconel625 alloy owed the best corrosion resistance.
Xu et al. studied the corrosion behavior of Incoloy-800H alloy with a pure Ni-coating in a molten salt of 33 wt% NaCl-21.6 wt% KCl-45.4 wt% MgCl 2 at 700 °C, it was found that Ni-coating effectively prevents Cr diffusion and reduce direct contact between Cr and the molten salts, effectively lowering the corrosion rate of the material.
