All of its energy storage units will use Tesla''s Megapack electrochemical energy storage system produced at the Shanghai Megafactory. The electricity generated by the photovoltaic system will be directly supplied to the Megafactory, with excess power automatically stored in the Megapack for future use.
Each unit boasts a storage capacity of over 3.9 MWh, sufficient to power approximately 3,600 homes for an hour. Tesla facilitates easy deployment with fully assembled and operational Megapack units, simplifying installation and minimizing complexity. These systems necessitate minimal maintenance and are backed by warranties up to 20 years.
The 40 GWh capacity is sufficient to power 50,000 households in Shanghai for a year. The first Megapacks made in Shanghai set sail today for export to Australia. Lei Kang joined CnEVPost in October 2022 and has been sharing exciting things about the EV industry in China since then. Contact the team: [email protected].
