GET FiT Mozambique aims to facilitate investments in relatively small-scale (4-15 MW), grid connected renewable energy Independent Power Producer (IPP) Projects, with EDM as the key off-taker and counterpart of the Power Purchase Agreements (PPA).
The tender is promoted by the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy (MIREME), with funding from the Government of Germany, through the KfW Development Bank, under the GET FiT Mozambique program, and is implemented by the Energy Regulatory Authority (ARENE).
According to the Constitution of the Republic of Mozambique and as reflected in the Land Law (Law no. 19/97 of 1 October), land is owned by the State, but the rights to use and occupy land can be granted to users in form of a DUAT.
