On August 7, 2023, Djibouti Telecom announced the RAS DIKA CLS is fully operational! Djibouti Telecom announced that the company has started the construction of a New Cable Landing Station in Djibouti City. Djibouti Telecom has two existing cable landing stations, housing 8 operational submarine cable systems and 5 on-project cable systems.
These include SMW3, EIG, EASSy, WIOCC, AAE1, SMW5, and YEMEN-Djibouti. The Djibouti Data Center is located just meters from the Djibouti Telecom international fiber cable landing station, and stands out as a reliable and cost-effective gateway hub to many of the fastest growing markets and service providers in Africa.
The new cable landing station under construction as of early 2023 in Djibouti City, the RAS DIKA cable landing station, is set to host 2Africa and the forthcoming Africa-1, India-Europe Xpress, SEA-ME-WE-6, PEACE and Blue-Raman cable systems.
